Jon has close to 15 years of experience as a career coach, management consultant, and currently as an external career advisor for the world’s top business schools, including INSEAD, Cambridge (Judge) & HKUST. In addition, Jon is a faculty member at Singapore Management University teaching Career Skills to undergraduates, and a Guest Lecturer at the NUS Business School teaching Management Communications to MBAs. He has also taught at the prestigious Shad Valley Program, Canada’s top program for leadership and entrepreneurship.
Originally from Toronto, Jon spent 7 years in the Consulting practice of the largest private professional services firm in the world advising clients in the financial services industry, retail, consumer goods, manufacturing, hi-tech and the public sector. In addition, Jon was a member of the Campus Recruiting Team for 6 years, which he led for 3. In this capacity, he reviewed resumes, conducted interviews and defined the recruiting strategy that led to over 100 interns, undergraduates and MBAs joining the company during his tenure. As one of the youngest Managers in the practice, Jon was constantly asked to mentor young analysts and has given company-wide workshops on what it takes to succeed in the corporate world.
Having had the fortune to live and work on 3 separate continents, Jon now calls Singapore home. Outside of work, he is the founder and a Board Member of the CUTC Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on technology education and awareness. In Asia, he recently founded Audacity, a movement that provides role models and encourages youth to not be afraid of following the road less traveled during their careers.
Jon holds an MBA from INSEAD and a Bachelor of Mathematics (Honours – Co-op) in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo. In his spare time, you can find him playing Ultimate Frisbee in and around the island.
Matthew has over 8 years of experience in training and development, facilitation, coaching and leadership development, having worked at both Barclays and Morgan Stanley. In addition, he has a wealth of experience in reviewing resumes, conducting interviews, designing and developing graduate assessment centres and defining recruiting strategy. He has worked with C-Suite Executives, Middle Managers, Graduates and Universities in the UK, including Bath, London Business School, Oxford and Warwick.
During his time in Financial Services, he drove and led major HR programmes worldwide including the onboarding of 1,000 new staff in 100 days in new offices in India as part of the Barclays’ off-shoring strategy. Prior to this he was a languages teacher for 2 years in France, building a strong understanding of adult learning methodology as well as gaining exposure to a number of different industries and organisations.
Matthew is passionate about the importance of making an impact in order to achieve success and knowing how to make the most of your own talents and preferences to attain excellence. It is this passion that has led him to take on the student council role of Director of Corporate Outreach and Career Service at NUS and to volunteer with a number of start-ups in Singapore.
Originally from Gibraltar, he has lived, studied and worked in multiple countries on 3 continents and now calls Singapore home. Matthew holds an MBA from NUS and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Accounting from the University of Hull. In his spare time, you can find him playing football with his Sunday League team.
